MJHA Research Exchange Seminar

The Modern Japan History Association's Research Exchange Seminar is a manuscript workshop that creates a forum for Japanese-language and English-language researchers to exchange ideas in a bilingual environment. Anyone is welcome to participate while speaking in either English or Japanese - whichever they feel most comfortable with. Short, article- or chapter-length papers (in English) are pre-circulated around a week in advance, and all participants are expected to read the paper prior to the start of the event.

We will workshop Dr. Yuri Ōkubo's article manuscript (English) with Dr. Wendy Matsumura. The manuscript will be sent to participants about one week in advance. Please read it before coming to the seminar. The workshop will be bilingual: participants may choose either Japanese or English to communicate. There will be no simultaneous translation.
