As a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization registered with the Internal Revenue Service of the United States, we are able to accept charitable donations from individuals and institutions interested in supporting our mission to promote Japanese studies around the world.
Starting up a brand new non-profit organization involves significant up-front costs, and we would appreciate any size of charitable contribution, as every bit helps!
Because MJHA is a member-run organization without any salaried staff, 100% of your contribution will go directly to building out our community of scholars and supporting our events, prizes, and programming.
At this early stage we would especially welcome cash donations unrestricted in their usage; however, we would also be more than happy to consider donations supporting a specific initiative or program.
In particular, we would be happy to collaborate with individuals or institutions interested in endowing (and naming) our book prize, dissertation prize, and distinguished annual lecture series.
To make a one-time donation or to set up a recurring donation, MJHA members can use the donation form in the members section of this website. To become an MJHA member, please click here.
Non-members can also arrange to donate by contacting donations@mjha.org.
For all questions or expressions of interest, please contact donations@mjha.org.
